Rumblings- End of Spring 2013

It's almost mid-April and seventy degrees as I write this. That means Spring is in full swing, and everyone who isn't already riding is at least getting ready. So, I'll cover some end of Spring events, and hopefully, you'll drag that bike out before the summer onslaught of "One-Summer-Hogs."

-Yesterday, 6 April, was the People Helping Paws Charity Ride in Columbia, Missouri. Spearheaded by MoM, it raised $240 for a local animal rescue. Look out for more events like this, such as...

-...an April 20th Poker Run in the Boone County area, also hosted by MoM. Play a hand or five, take a ride, and stop for a cold-one at the end. All proceeds benefit Central Missouri Humane Society. April 20th, starting at 1030. Look it up on Facebook as "CMHS Poker Run 2013."

-Mizzou Swing Society will host their last open dance and free lesson on Saturday, 13 April. If you've always wanted to dance while listening to the tunes at a show, come try it. Learn the basics, and practice. Starts at seven P.M. Mark Twain Ballroom, Memorial Union, CoMo.

-This coming weekend is Buzz Walneck's Annual Swapmeet in Woodstock, Illinois. On the 14th, after you check out the swap, head over to Woodstock Triumph for the kickoff of Ton-Up Chicago's "Second Sundays." As usual, there will be good music, great people, and even better bikes. Trophies et all handed out at 1600. The following Wednesday kicks off the club's recurring Bieks and Burlesque at the Holiday Club. If you haven't, go check it- it's a real treat.

-Summer's right around the corner, with rides and MvRs in Cincinnati, Chicago, Indianapolis and elsewhere in the midwest. I'll cover those as they draw near.
One more announcement- I have been awarded the opportunity to study in San Diego over the summer, fully paid for. This means I will not be physically present at many of the Midwest events. However, expect to see many pictures, many West Coast events, plenty more hot rod talks, and maybe even a new girlfri- er, bike, coming down the pipeline. Keep the tires down, the tank up, and your arse higher.
