The Best Bar in America combines adventure, drink,
and a few poor decisions to create a thoroughly enjoyable biker movie with a
hint of philosophy for good measure. It stars Andrew Rizzo as Sanders, who is
on a mission to write a guidebook to all the bars in the Western United States-
a count of some 11 grand. Along the way he meets interesting characters, loses
his wife, and hooks up with a wise road-goer played by David Ackroyd. The movie
is not unlike One Week, which I have reviewed before, and will appeal to a
similar crowd. It is not as polished, with some questionable cinematic choices
and editing, but overall, the film is enjoyable and would make anyone long for
a deep glass and a long-road. I don’t usually encourage y’all to spend money,
but this is a solid addition to any Greaser’s collection. $20 bucks through the
movie’s website.
